چکیده

We consider the two dimensional L critical nonlinear Schrödinger equation i∂tu+ ∆u+ u|u| = 0. In the pioneering work [2], Bourgain and Wang have constructed smooth solutions which blow up in finite time T < +∞ with the pseudo conformal speed ‖∇u(t)‖L2 ∼ 1 T − t , and which display some decoupling between the regular and the singular part of the solution at blow up time. We prove that this dynamic is unstable. More precisely, we show that any such solution with small super critical L mass lies on the boundary of both H open sets of global solutions that scatter forward and backwards in time, and solutions that blow up in finite time on the right in the log-log regime exhibited in [29], [32], [42]. We moreover exhibit some continuation properties of the scattering solution after blow up time and recover the chaotic phase behavior first exhibited in [26] in the critical mass case.

On Stability of Pseudo-conformal Blowup for L-critical Hartree Nls

We consider L-critical focusing nonlinear Schrödinger equations with Hartree type nonlinearity i∂tu = −∆u− ` Φ ∗ |u| ́ u in R, where Φ(x) is a perturbation of the convolution kernel |x|. Despite the lack of pseudo-conformal invariance for this equation, we prove the existence of critical mass finite-time blowup solutions u(t, x) that exhibit the pseudoconformal blowup rate L2x ∼ 1 |t| as t ր 0. ...

Critical exponents and collapse of nonlinear Schrödinger equations with anisotropic fourth-order dispersion

We calculate the critical exponent of nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equations with anisotropic negative fourth-order dispersion using an anisotropic Gagliardo–Nirenberg inequality. We also prove global existence, and in some cases uniqueness, for subcritical solutions and for critical solutions with small L2 norm, without making use of Strichartz-type estimates for the linear operator. At exponen...

Continuations of the nonlinear Schrödinger equation beyond the singularity

We present four continuations of the critical nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NLS) beyond the singularity: (1) a sub-threshold power continuation, (2) a shrinking-hole continuation for ring-type solutions, (3) a vanishing nonlinear-damping continuation and (4) a complex Ginzburg–Landau (CGL) continuation. Using asymptotic analysis, we explicitly calculate the limiting solutions beyond the singu...

A Sharp Condition for Scattering of the Radial 3d Cubic Nonlinear Schrödinger Equation

We consider the problem of identifying sharp criteria under which radial H (finite energy) solutions to the focusing 3d cubic nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NLS) i∂tu + ∆u + |u|2u = 0 scatter, i.e. approach the solution to a linear Schrödinger equation as t → ±∞. The criteria is expressed in terms of the scale-invariant quantities ‖u0‖L2‖∇u0‖L2 and M [u]E[u], where u0 denotes the initial data,...

The Deterministic Generation of Extreme Surface Water Waves Based on Soliton on Finite Background in Laboratory

This paper aims to describe a deterministic generation of extreme waves in a typical towing tank. Such a generation involves an input signal to be provided at the wave maker in such a way that at a certain position in the wave tank, say at a position of a tested object, a large amplitude wave emerges. For the purpose, we consider a model called a spatial-NLS describing the spatial propagation o...
